Typhoidland and our heritage partners Dublin City Library and Archive recently celebrated the launch of Fear & Fever: 14 days of typhoid in Edwardian Dublin, a new historical graphic novel written by Claas Kirchhelle and Carly Collier, and illustrated by Clare Foley. Fear & Fever, published by Dublin City Council, explores life, death and public health in Ireland’s capital city when typhoid stalked its streets.

We’re delighted to say that copies of Fear & Fever are available to borrow from every Dublin City branch and local studies library. Classroom sets of Fear & Fever can be borrowed by Dublin-based teachers via Dublin City Libraries’ fantastic Class Novels initiative (more info here: dublincity.ie/library/blog/s). Finally, you can read Fear & Fever online for free – here’s the direct link to where you’ll find it on the Typhoidland website: https://typhoidland.org/graphic-novel/

We hope you enjoy it!

Our thanks to Lorraine McLoughlin, Dublin City Archivist, and her fantastic team for a wonderful launch event, and to all those who came along.
