Typhoidland’s Dr Emily Webster and Dr Claas Kirchhelle, in collaboration with PhD candidate Paula Palanco Lopez, have published an important new historical review of World Health Organisation reporting on typhoid control between 1940-2019. This new review, published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases, shows how geopolitics, new metrics and technology drove a shift from WASH to vaccine-based interventions.
